Ella Watson,12, of 1066 swimmers smashed her 200m breaststroke time to be
crowned Southeast Regional Champion. The talented youngster lined up against
the cream of the swimming fraternity across Southeast of England and proved to
all she was head and shoulders above the rest as she eased to victory in a
life times best. Her time secured a better ranking at this years Nationals
which will be held in Sheffield in August. She almost secured a second title
but was piped in the touch in the 100m breaststroke. Her time for this event
was yet another personal best and also booked another place in the National
Finals.

There was more success for the local swimming club when Ella was joined by
Charlotte Rouncivell, Chloe Pollard and Ellie Williams who became the fastest
Sussex team in both the 800m freestyle relay ( 9th overall ) and the 400m
Medley relay (5th overall) at the Regionals held at the K2 Crawley. It was an
amazing fete as the foursome beat all the top Sussex teams on route to
recording a vastly improved time.
