
The next wave of promising young swimmers from 1066 took centre stage at
the Atlantis Open Meet at Horsham recently and everyone surpassed expectations
with them all clocking vastly improved times.
Talented Lydia Harrison struck a well deserved gold in the 50m breaststroke
to enhance her growing reputation and backed that up with bronze in the 100m
breaststroke both swims personal bests plus a sixth in the 50m
freestyle.
Bill Matthews smashed his previous best times to claim two well deserved
bronze medals in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke and with top ten finishes
in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 50m backstroke in life times bests it
was a good meet for the young prospect.
1066 claimed another bronze when Lucy Puddefoot annihilated her 200m
backstroke time in a superb swim to finish third in a strong field. Lucy
finished in the top five in the 50m backstroke in a personal best and
continued her improvement in the 50m breaststroke.
Molly Paulin was yet another 1066 swimmer who bettered her times quite
dramatically with fanastic swims as she just missed out on the medals in both
the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. Harry Dyer rounded off the an
encouraging day for 1066's new stars with t! op ten finishes and personal
bests in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
