The second round of the Sussex league pitched 1066 swimmers against East
Grinstead and Eastbourne at the Sovereign centre. 1066 put in a marvellous
spirited performance despite losing swimmers to the school's national relay
finals to merit second place with 386 points. East Grinstead won with 424

The evening started well for 1066 with Megan Alsop and Adam Rouncivell winning
both the u/16 medleys and the same duo then gained more maximum points with
Megan in the Open and u/16 butterfly and Adam in the u/16 backstroke,
breaststroke and butterfly. Cheyenne Mischewski eased to victory in the u/14
freestyle. Ella Watson, u/14 breaststroke, Joseph Stell, u/14 breaststroke, Ryan

The final race of the
night, the mixed squadron freestyle, was easily won by 1066 thanks to Chloe
Pollard, Ryan Lee, Cheyenne Mischewski, Darius Khalesi, Megan Alsop, Adam
Rouncivell, Victoria Turner and Todd Alsop who brought the team home.
Coach Dave Pollard said "This was a good team performance, many of our
swimmers were swimming up in age groups and still there were 23 pbs set on the
night. Everyone deserves a pat on the back."
