Victoria breaks S.E record
Victoria Turner of 1066 swimmers set a new South East long course record for
the 50m backstroke for the 14 year age group. At a packed K2 Crawley most
of the country's elite swimmers gathered for the a rare chance to compete in
a 50m pool, the 1066 swimmer was in the last heat of the backstroke. Swimming
amongst her elder peers she notched up a pb, a new South East record and third
overall in the Open.
To qualify for such a prestigious event was an achievement in itself and the
rest of the1066 swimmers all clocked pbs for long course. Ella Watson (11)
100m breaststroke ( fifth in the 11/12 age group) and the 200m
breaststroke, Todd Alsop (17) 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly, Adam Rouncivell
50m and 100m freestyle and Charlottte Rouncivell for the 50m backstroke.
