1066 shine at Brighton

The Tom Handley Brighton Open drew a very competitive field from across the South with three of 1066 swimmers vying for honours. Young Charlotte Rouncivell,11, got the weekend off to a flying start with gold and a pb in the 100m freestyle then continued her impressive start to the new year with a bronze in the 200m backstroke (pb) and a second in her age group in the 50m freestyle.

The ever improving Adam Rouncivell produced four personal bests in the 200m freestyle, the 100m backstroke, the 100m freestyle which earned him silver overall and finally, a time in the 50m freestyle which merited a first in his age group and moved him closer to the Nationals in July.

Victoria Turner,13,just missed out on a National time in the 100m backstroke but still claimed gold in the event, then captured two further gold's in the 200m backstroke and the 50m freestyle in a personal best plus recorded another pb in the 200m freestyle.
