1066 Lift the Cup

1066 swimmers rounded off the club competition season in style with a resounding victory over local rivals to lift the Davies Tate Trophy at the Soveriegn Centre, Eastbourne. The final points tally read 1066 - 341, Lewes - 264, Hailsham - 224, Eastbourne - 222, Beacon - 195, and Smiths - 116.

Individual wins were numerous but special mention must go to the likes of George Smith who smashed two pbs, Charlotte Rouncivell with 3 pbs and two new club records, Ben Coles 4pbs, Brandon Johnson 4pbs,Catherine Welford 2pbs and 2 new club records, Rebecca Ellis 2 pbs, Carys Williams 2 pbs plus pbs for Peter Stell, Joseph Stell, Ben King, Natalie Pollard, Ellie Williams, Henri Choron and Lewis Peppiatt. 

The packed centre saw a one sided affair with the remaining clubs competing for second. It was a good finale for the local swimming club which are producing some noted swimmers. Head Coach Dave Pollard said "The team spirit is naturally high especially after this victory. The vast majority of the swimmers are improving their times and next season looks promising."
