1066 quartet county champions

1066's 11/12 yrs girl team of Chloe Pollard, Ella Watson, Ellie Williams and Charlotte Rouncivell produced an impressive display in the 200m Medley to easily capture gold in their Final to be crowned County Champions. Having qualified as the fastest for the Final ahead of 34 other teams entered throughout the County the pressure was on to reproduce another near perfect performance. Chloe,11, lead off on backstroke and held her own with the older swimmers, Ella Watson, also 11, continued to hold position then Ellie Williams,12, with a superb 50m butterfly put 1066 into a good lead and Charlotte Rouncivell brought the team home nearly three seconds ahead of their nearest rivals Crawley A. Earlier on, the same quartet claimed a bronze in the 200m freestyle relay in the packed arena at The Sovereign Centre, Eastbourne.

1066's 13/14 girl team of Amelia Harrison, Emma Cannon, Natalie Pollard and Victoria Turner secured bronze for their gallant efforts in the 200m Medley and had a top ten finish in the 200m freestyle Relay. The 17yrs/over Men's Medley foursome of Richard Aaron, Todd Alsop, Joe Slaughter and Matthew Mileham was pipped into fourth place in a hotly contested competition and a fifth place in the Freestyle relay.

There were more top ten finishes for 1066 with the 11/1 2 yrs girls team of Anna Raman, Sophie Griggs, Jess Honeysett and Johanna Welford; 11/12 yrs boys 200m medley quartet of Ben Coles, Darius Khalesi, JJ Choron and Ryan Lee; 15/16 yrs women's team of Lara Coles, Abigail Hucker, Megan Williams and Catherine Welford in both the Medley and Freestyle; plus the 15/16 yrs Men's foursome of Adam Rouncivell, Charlie MacKenna, Matthew Kennedy and Peter Stell, again, in both the Medley and freestyle.
